Food Baskets/Holiday Meals


Christmas Dinner and Gift Distribution (Denver Metro) – Salvation Army (Denver)

Christmas Dinner will be provided on December 23 from 11:30 am – 1pm at the Colorado Convention Center. In addition to the dinner we will be providing at no cost: a visit with Santa and a toy for every child 16 years & younger. Children must be present to receive a gift.

Christmas Basket (Metro Denver) – Volunteers of America

Applications for Christmas Baskets will be taken in person on December 18, 2017 from 9am-5pm. First come, first served. Clients will receive a voucher when they register, and will then need to return on 12/18 from 9:00am-2:00pm with their voucher to receive a food basket. Registration is TBD but will be close to 12/13 Required Documents: CO Photo ID and proof residence (lease agreement, phone or public service bill). Registration is only one day, it fills fast. Arriving early is suggested.

A hot holiday meal will be served at the Lawrence Street Community Center on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. All guests in attendance will receive a gift.


Community Ministry – Holiday Food Boxes

Provides holiday food boxes at Thanksgiving and Christmas to people who have used the food pantry services during the calendar year prior to signing up for a box. The box counts as a bonus visit (rather than a regular one). May only sign up to receive a Thanksgiving or Christmas box – not both. Distribution typically occurs the Monday prior to the holiday, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.


Holiday Baskets for Seniors – Senior Answers


Delivers 200 baskets of food and presents to low-income seniors who will be alone during the holidays. Must typically live south of 120th Ave and north of County line Rd, west of Union Blvd and east of Tower Rd, but exceptions may be made at the organization’s discretion.

AICS is taking a list for people requesting assistance with a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal. They will be providing holiday boxes with ingredients for families to cook a meal. Recipients must be current residents of Aurora with a physical address. Please call number listed above to inquire.

Dolls for Daughters, Toys for Boys

Saturday, December 2, 2017.  Doors will open at 9am and will close at 5pm or when we run out of toys.

We will provide assistance to 3,500 children. We plan to provide each child with a new toy, a stocking, a new stocking stuffer, a new book/bookmark and a new toothbrush and toothpaste kit.  Food Bank of the Rockies will provide food boxes to families after they have shopped. Walgreens will provide free flu shots.  In order to participate you MUST have a birth certificate for each of your children and you will be able to receive the items listed above for each child. Birth certificates from anywhere are accepted. We WILL NOT accept any other form of proof related to your child(ren). No social security cards, no school id’s, etc. You must have a birth certificate even if your child(ren) are in attendance. No exceptions will be made.

Christmas Toy Distribution – Denver Inner City Parish

Provide Christmas gift distribution for families in need of a gift for their child ages birth – 18 during the holidays. One gift per child will be given. Tickets will be distributed by lottery – no first come, first served. Lottery numbers will determine time of entry into the building. Lottery begins at 8:00am. Lottery tickets will be given out for four time slots: 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00a, and 12pm. Please do not bring children to the event. Must bring a photo ID and must also bring the child(ren)’s birth certificate(s). Without both documents the client will not receive service. One gift per child.


DICP Santa Shop & Holiday Breakfast

Santa Shop – The Action Center

Distribution: December 9th, 2017. Hours: 10:00am -3:00pm

Parents and legal guardians of children from newborn to 12 years old can “shop” for gifts that ensure a positive, happy holiday season. Items are limited and based on size of family as well as the age of children. Register at the Action Center at least 48 hours prior to distribution: Bring photo ID, child birth certificates or proof of guardianship, and proof of Jefferson County residency. This is only for Jefferson County residences. NO CHILDREN IN THE SHOP!
Community Ministry – Christmas Gift Distribution

Hours of operation: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Office Hours and Food Bank Hours)

Denver County residents only. Provides holiday gifts for 400 children, ages 0-10 years old. Clients will need to provide the following documentation: Photo ID, Proof of residency (recent piece of mail, within the last 30 days), ID for all family members (photo ID, SS card, birth certificate)


Christmas in the Park – AfterHours Denver


Distribution: Monday, December 25, 2017 at noon – Arrive at Lincoln Park in front of the Denver Capitol Building and line up. The line may form as early as 10 a.m. Individuals are encouraged to come early.

Provides sleeping bags, coats, backpacks, and grilled burgers for those experiencing poverty. Donated hygiene kits, toys for children, underwear, socks, other cold weather clothing will also be provided by volunteers, as supplies last. Held at Lincoln Park in front of the Capitol Building on December 25, 2017.

Anyone can request a tree however they do not guarantee that they can provide one for every person who requests. Request form is online:


Denver Santa Claus Shop

Dec. 8, 9, 11 & 12

Admittance is by invitation only & families must be Denver County residents.

Families must be registered with & referred to DSCS by social service agencies including: Catholic Charities, Denver Human Services, Denver Public Schools’ Homeless Education Network, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, Head Start or Volunteers of America. Clients of Denver Human Services receiving SNAP, TANF, Medicaid or SSI (with children 11 years & younger) will automatically be mailed a POSTCARD INVITATION the 1st week in December. Contact an agency directly NOW regarding eligibility for their services. Children born in 2006 or later are eligible to receive toys. Must bring proof of Denver residency (driver’s license, rent receipt), & proof of children’s ages (birth certificate, health card, social security card), & your invitation postcard, for admittance to the Shop.
